Announcing Coloretto

My implementation of Coloretto by Michael Schacht is now available. The intelligence of the 'bot' opponents is not quite there yet (still working on that part) but the game is playable and I thought I'd open it up and start getting a little feedback while I'm at it. Feel free to comment on this story if you have any issues and/or questions.

You can get to the game in many ways. The easiest is to create a browser bookmark to the following URL:

You can also come to the marquand.net directly and click on the blue Coloretto Topic Link (in the upper left hand corner). Enjoy.

I enjoy playing this this here, and come back to it repeatedly while at work for little breaks.

I don't know much about programming, but I wonder if it is possible to speed up the game at all. Knowing how to play, I don't need the animation of the turn card moving around. Is there a way to get rid of or speed up the animations?

As the designer, you may want feedback from people who use the site. If not, please ignore! Regardless, thanks for building and hosting it. Fun.

Thanks and I'm glad you enjoy playing.

I can speed up the animation and if I were to "open the hood" on the code (so to speak) I'd make a lot of other enhancements as well. However, it's been a very long time since I've made any changes and you are the first to mention that particular enhancement. It's not that I don't want to make your play time more enjoyable but I just don't have the bandwidth time-wise to play around with the code as much as I used to.

I apologize but I hope you continue to keep playing.
