Solitaire Clans

If you've ever played Leo Colovini's Clans, you might enjoy a game of Clans against computer opponents. A game can be played in a matter of minutes so it's not an incredible time waster unless of course you keep coming back for more punishment. To begin playing, click on the Clans link in the Favorite Links area to your left. Be patient the first time it loads. There are a lot of images to download but once they're cached in your browser cache the game runs much more smoothly.

On a more technical note, the game code is still very new and I'm still making updates. Feel free to comment on any issues or suggestions you have. The game is written completely in Javascript and DHTML and I've tested it in the latest Internet Explorer, FireFox, and Safari.

If you've never played, rules for Clans are readily available on the BGG.

If you have any issues are problems and want to contact me about them, you can do that here.

I'm still working on the hut 'flying' part. It's a little annoying but currently, the end result of your move is shown in the destination territory and then huts fly from the source territory into the destination seemingly into wrong locations. This will change soon but I just got the flying part working last night (well, early this morning really).

Looks like a fix I put in last night didn't quite work out as planned. Basically make sure the turn indicator is pointing at 'You' before you attempt to take your turn. Beginning your turn while your opponents are moving causes some strange visually anomalies.

So where is the link to your DHTML?

hunh? The game is embedded in a page on this site and you can get to it by clicking on the "Solitaire Clans" link on the left (with the little yellow hut next to it).

Is that what you're asking?

Looks like I'll be playing this instead of Coloretto for a while! If I may suggest, how about a "another Game?" type button?

That's a good idea but unfortunately I doubt I'll dig back into the code to add that. Clans has been out there awhile and I probably won't spend much time on it. You can click refresh on your browser or press the F5 Function Key (IE and FireFox at least) to start a new game as a workaround.

This is really hard to beat with three players! I wish it would replay moves with the animation, so I could better follow what I did wrong. That AI is brutal!
